PIA meeting with Marjeta Jager, Deputy Director-General of EU International Partenerships, European Commission

Recently, The PIA members met Marjeta Jager, Deputy Director-General of EU International Partnerships accompanied by her team. The European Commission stressed the importance of cooperating with the private sector in these current challenging times.

Amongst others, the topics of food security and food supply were discussed. The PIA-members and the European Commission agreed the focus should be laid upon sustainability and autonomy.

The PIA-members are committed to building local supply chains but not without a solid regulatory framework for investment.

The very pressing topic of energy was also discussed. The European Commission is firmly committed to implement the Globalgateway package of EUR 150m that will boost investment in renewable energy.
